Amber is a machine knitter and makes knitted accessories and homewares, she has even started her own small business called Ambermayde which started during her second year of study. She sells her products online and at craft fairs and has even recently won a
competition to have a stand for a day at the Country Living Spring fair. Amber’s designs are based on her love of architecture and structure that can be found in Norfolk, all her designs start on graph paper to create square based images, they are then copied onto her laptop where she makes the final designs and they then get transferred to her knitting machine, where she hand knits all of her products on her machine. Only the highest quality wool Amber can find creates the softest and also hard wearing products possible. After Amber has finished her studies at university she would like to become a technician in knitwear or start her own workshops as she loves teaching people new techniques but also learning off others. Also another priority is to continue to let her business grow, with the love of an opportunity to get into shops and galleries, so they can begin to stock her pieces, making her become a well-established business in Norfolk over the next few years.
