With an experimental approach to woven textiles, Beth’s use of colour and texture has allowed her to create a dynamic and tentative collection based on unisex sportswear. Her use of double clothe has meant she’s been able to layer monofilament with a hand painted silk warp to create a wide variety of clothes with a diversity of tones. By using pops of vibrant neon cord, beading and embroidery that allows the delicateness of the pastel warp in the weaves to shine through and emphasise the sports luxe tone to the collection. By using a block threading plan it’s meant that she has been able to take complete control of what she’s weaving to reflect her drawings of Brooklyn’s skyline creating areas of opacity and transparency that contrast like windows in a building.
