Shona is a Textiles Artist and Designer specialising in hand weaving. Creating innovative pieces with a unique mixture of traditional and Saori weaving methods, Shona’s most recent work is the theme of Beautiful Imperfections in and around the Urban environment, looking at the textures and colours of the worn, chipped and moss grown surfaces.
These imperfect details are transformed into wire woven art forms with an emphasis on zero waste, she lets these experimental pieces have their own personality with individual shapes and structures.
Shona’s art pieces also translate into her slow fashion scarfs but in a form of luxurious and tactile cloth exploring the use of materials.
This exhibition shows Shona’s enthusiasm of traditional methods, combining zero waste with contemporary materials, and her concentration of innovative design through her professionally hand woven slow fashion scarfs.
